I was thrilled to have family in my home Saturday for a luncheon to honor my Aunt LaVern for her 90th birthday. Her children brought lunch for about 40 folks and we enjoyed the delicious meal and lots of visiting. Traveling the furthest was Greg, the first son of Aunt LaVern's younger sister, from Chicago. Others came from Plainview, Dallas, Munday, Olney, Abilene, Waco, and Weinert. There are only three of the original eleven children born to Rebus B. and Emily Belle Guess living and Aunt LaVern is the oldest. She is the sixth child.
One topic of discussion was the fact that our Weinert cousins, along with all Weinert citizens, have been without water for three days. I understand it was restored by Saturday night but off again by Sunday afternoon.
A party which included friends was held at the Bever House from 2:00 till 5:00.
It was truly a red letter day for us all, visiting and loving on Aunt LaVern.

What a fun time. I love it when family gets together...oh to be honest I love it when there are people to have fun with. She is a beautiful woman and I know she enjoyed the party. She takes a lovely picture. I told my daughter last night that mother and her sister hated to have their picture made and even though they were pretty women they never looked that good in picctures. Fun Times!
